In August 1954, the trade union organization of progressive and revolutionary teachers around the world unanimously approved the Charter of Teachers consisting of 15 chapters.
From August 26 to 30, 1975, in Warsaw – the capital of Poland – the FISE conference took place with 57 participating countries, including the Vietnam Education Trade Union. The conference decided to take November 20, 1958 as the International Charter of Teachers Day, which is the origin of November 20.
Directly related to the origin of Vietnam Teachers’ Day, November 20, on September 28, 1982, the Council of Ministers (now the Government) issued Decision No. 167-HDBT to designate November 20 every year as Vietnam Teachers’ Day.
